About the Project

The project will be led by EDF Renewables North America, a market leading independent power producer and service provider with over 34 years of expertise in renewable energy. The Company delivers grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distributed solutions: solar, solar+storage, EV charging and energy management; and asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial skills to maximize performance of generating projects.

Milligan 1 Wind is a $350 million investment in Saline County. The 300 MW wind farm project will generate clean energy for more than 100,000 homes, boost the local economy with millions in new spending, produce $45 million in total tax revenue, and create more than 200 jobs while sustaining 150 small family farmers and landowners with stable lease payments of more than $50 million over the life of the project. The project is planned to begin operation in late 2020.

We live by our mission to deliver renewable solutions to lead the transition to a sustainable energy future.  We understand the importance of community, the value of land and the importance of deep roots.  What helps to define us is our commitment to the communities in which we operate. At the core of every EDFR project is sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Our CSR efforts do not happen in isolation. They are part of our corporate DNA. We believe that the world of energy is changing, and customers are becoming more involved in all aspects of the business. Transparency and engaging with community stakeholders is an integral part of the process.  To learn more about how we operate, check out our case study on a project.
